Mark Your Calendars

Prayer for Hurricane Victims

Gracious Lord, hear our prayers for all those in the path of the storm. Let your Spirit of peace and strength surround them so they know how closely you are walking with them. Give us your Spirit that we might be generous in the recovery process. Knit us together as one people who know you as our only sure shelter. We pray in the name of Christ. Amen.

October 7th’s communion rail offering went towards disaster recovery. If you did not get a chance to give – or want to increase your gift – simply mark your gift “disaster recovery,” and the church will add it as we send to the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

How to Dress for Church

Friends, it’s that time of year when we guess about the weather. We tried to turn the heat on for the sanctuary building, and the water refused to heat up.

It’s been cold the first part of the week. The weather forecast guesses 69 degrees on Saturday and 65 degrees on Sunday.

So? Dress in layers. Be prepared for shifting temperatures in our buildings in case we guess wrong and/or the machinery doesn’t want to function.

Halloween is on a Wednesday!

October 31st

Halloween is on a Wednesday this year, and our church is teaming up with the City and Farmers’ Market for Street-N-Treat. We will emphasize Noah’s Ark in the youth building that night, 6-8. If you’d like to help give away candy at the tables that night, call the church office.

Please plan to dress up as animals from Noah’s ark to help us teach a bible lesson that night! Kristina Gower has graciously offered to supply “nose, ears, and collar” if you will get in touch with her by Oct 15; just let her know what animal(s) you’d like to be!

You can see a humorous time-lapse video of last year's packaging right here.

Partnering with Lee Elem.

Forms are available in the foyer to join the Lee Elementary PTA. Cost is only $7 for the whole year, and we don't have to attend meetings!

Make your check out to Lee Elementary and write PTA in the memo line, OR write your check to FUMC and put Lee PTA in the memo. Either way, we'll get it to them!
