Russell Glenn Community Garden
RUSS GLENN COMMUNITY GARDEN at 224 N. Center Street is open to anyone in the community who wishes to have a small garden plot. The Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful Program sponsors our garden and has provided a large variety of seeds and onion sets. The City’s Master Composting group will visit our garden on June 4 to view our composting activities. The garden is entirely organic.
Participating gardeners meet as a group each fourth Saturday of the month to share gardening plans and do general clean up chores. However, the May meeting is moved to the third Saturday (10 am-12 noon) because of Memorial Day Holiday weekend. The meetings on the fourth Saturdays in June, July, August, and September Saturday are from 8 am to 10 am to avoid the heat. Gardeners bring good to enjoy lunch or breakfast together, depending on meeting times.
Excess produce will be shared with the Body of Christ Food Pantry and the Grand Prairie Food & Clothing Co-op.
Come check us out and learn to grow your own vegetables, enjoy God’s wonderful world, and to make new friends.
